Mt. Baker Slush Cup 2012 continues the tradition sparked up in the early 1950′s, ”On July 4th of 1953 I went to Mt. Baker, Washington to film the Slush Cup. This was in the days when it was a real glacial pond and before it got shut down because of too many people trying for greatness while using chemicals in place of courage.” – Warren Miller [citation].
Very much like Mt. Baker Sesh Up, the grass roots tradition continues on July 21, 2012; come to the upper lodge parking lot and hike out to the pond just off Austin / Blueberry runs and enjoy the sun with a group of friends!

Shovel, beacon, probe, pack a lunch, 6 pack of beer and camera equipment; Mt. Baker’s backcountry ease of access from the upper parking lot is a short hike.
MountainHigh spends a good time out in Mt. Baker backcountry to FILM their latest video. Incredible riders include Erik Botner, Fredrik Evensen, Joacim Nyhaugen, and Quinn Joseph Baumberger. Most of the footage shot in this video I can easily identify, a few spots I’ve never seen before. But without a doubt, they took full advantage of Grandmas cabin!
Okay I thought wakeboarding in Alaska was cool… This just makes my head explode to see a fishing boat and a Seadoo chilling behind Ian Welsh!

I was browsing /r/snowboarding the other day when I discovered a Russian dumpling that goes by the name of Alyona Alekhina… I have never been more impressed in my life since my days of shredding with Y.D. Skate Team in little old Anacortes WA… Katharine and Jessica always bowl heshed with the guys! Ms. Alekhina, you rock!
Evan Applegate heads out east to Stevens Pass with riders Ted McColl, Jack McColl, and Ryan Tucker to shoot in some of the most beautiful conditions the Pacific Northwest can bring. You cannot deny the fact that March has treated us well!
You know, I wish I could live up at Whistler B.C. I would just cruise around riding all day everyday… During lunch I could hit the terrain park, after work I’d be night riding. <3
Happen to be checking out Push.ca when I noticed a new edit for the Red Bull Supernatural. Very inspiring to watch, and to think this crew was up at the Mt. Baker Ski resport for Legendary Banked Slalom. Congratulations to Terje Haakonsen for taking Pro Mens! Scope out the qualifiers from Saturday if you haven’t, I wasn’t expecting them to be up there. Good times!
